Megan Hurson has been teaching in the public relations, social media, advertising, media studies, interpersonal and intercultural communication and internship realms since 2013. She earned her undergraduate degree in Advertising at Penn State. After graduation she worked at NYC agencies for big pharma and consumer packaged goods clients.
Returning to grad school, she delved into the Media Studies and Production M.A. program at Temple University in Philadelphia (formerly Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media). She continued on to complete a doctorate in Media Studies and Communication through the Journalism and Mass Communication program at The University of Colorado Boulder, where she also earned Critical Theory and Women and Gender Studies certificates. Passionate about social activism and its intersection with media, she undertook the University of Pennsylvania's Digital Media for Social Impact certificate program and ASU's Non-Profit Marketing and Strategic Communications certificate. With experience in marketing and PR for mom-and-pop Colorado businesses, Megan aims to nurture students' marketable skills with a focus on creativity and social justice.
