Biography

Paul Castro is an award-winning, WGA Writer, director and producer. His major studio-produced screenplays and films are enjoyed around the world having exceeded $100 million at the Box Office, Streaming and Television.   

Paul won a Movie Guide Award as the original creator/writer of the Warner Brothers Studio international hit film, “August Rush,” starring Academy Award Winner Robin Williams, Keri Russell, Terrence Howard, Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor,) Jonathan Rhys Meyers and others.

He has worked with many movie stars including Oscar winning actresses and actors including John Travolta, Shirley MacLaine, Robin Williams, Sean Astin and others.

Paul has worked with major studios including Amazon Prime Studios Streaming, Lionsgate, Warner Bros., The Hallmark Channel, Sony Pictures, F/X, HBO and others.

As Assistant Professor of Electronic Media and Film, Paul has taught multiple level courses in storytelling, both narrative and non-fiction.

Research

Paul is actively involved in helping students help themselves in finding their unique voice as a cinematic, dramatic storyteller.

Online learning continues to grow as has one of Paul’s many research contributions.  Globally, his 2 courses have 16,000+ paid students in a 137 countries.

Value-based Storytelling has been deep in Paul’s research journey for over a decade. Telling stories that are in alignment with a person’s values have statistically outperformed various genres without such focus.
