Cynthia Stevenson

Biography
Cindy Williams Stevenson is a retired public school music educator with thirty-five years of experience. In that capacity, she was the Fine Arts Department Chair at Catonsville Middle School, mentored several student interns from Towson and UMBC, and served on three instrumental curriculum committees for Baltimore County Public Schools. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Fairmont University in West Virginia where she graduated with academic honors and a certificate in clarinet performance. She was Principal Clarinetist of the Wilmington Symphony in North Carolina as well as an adjunct professor in clarinet performance at UNC Wilmington before moving to the Baltimore region. She earned her masters equivalency with coursework at Peabody Conservatory and The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Stevenson served as president of the Maryland Band Directors Association. Additionally, she managed the state middle and high school band festivals for nearly twenty years. Ms. Stevenson has also presented workshops at professional development conferences and continues to serve as an adjudicator and clinician across the state of Maryland.
Mrs. Stevenson was inducted into the inaugural class of Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, Alpha Iota Chapter in 2023 and currently serves as the chapter president.
