South Campus Athletic Fields

The South Campus Athletic Fields host competition for women's soccer and practices for a variety of TU sports, including football and lacrosse. The fields are also home to the Maryland Special Olympics Summer Games and community camps. Renovations of the South Campus Athletic Fields began with the new Field Hockey field in 2018. In summer 2019, we completed the installation of modern turf which provides five times more usable playing hours for TU and community athletes. The project is ongoing with the addition of spectator stands and a field house with concessions, bathrooms and other amenities to create more equitable conditions for all TU athletes. These additions will be complete in summer 2020.

Traffic, Parking and Pedestrian Information

Auburn Drive will remain open throughout the project. Lot 19, the overflow parking lot at the bottom part of Auburn Drive, will be partially closed from February 15 to August 30, 2020 to enable continued progress on the fields. The partial closure will include approximately 30 spaces. Additional space will be available in lot 19, as well as in stadium lots 13, 14, 20 and 21. See the campus map for details.

Pedestrian access will be unaffected by the project, and will remain available to the Towson Center, TU Arena and Unitas Stadium.
