Joseph Harant

Professional Experience

Professor Harant is one of the only forensic microscopists in the Baltimore metropolitan area. His expertise began in the Baltimore Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit before moving on to the Trace Analysis Unit where he specialized in microscopic and instrumental analysis. After retiring from the Baltimore Lab, Professor Harant went on to become the Trace Analysis Unit supervisor at the Maryland State Police Forensic Science Division Laboratory.
