Advising & Student Resources
Advising and Student Resources
This page and the associated links (right sidebar) are to help students towards the path to successful completion of their degree in Environmental Science and Studies. Advising Checklists (below), Degree Completion Plans (DCP), and other Academic Resources are all to help students obtain their academic goals while minimizing financial and time costs.
Importantly, the key requirements for graduation are outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog, but briefly can be summarized as:
- Completion of University Core courses (or, previously Gen Ed)
- A GPA of at least 2.0
- 32 credits of upper-level courses (300-400 level)
- Completion of the requirements of your major (see Advising Checklists)
- And total course credits equal to at least 120
Knowing these requirements ahead of time can help avoid pitfalls and surprises when graduation time nears.
Advising Checklists
Below are ENVS checklists used for academic advising and to help you progress through the major. The checklists show the courses required to complete your major and you are required to submit a revised checklist prior to each meeting with your advisor!
Watch this video to help you complete your ENVS checklist.
The checklists are Microsoft Word* documents and are listed by track/concentration here:
- Environmental Biology
- Environmental Chemistry
- Environmental Geology
- Environmental Geography
- Environmental Health
- Environmental Science
- Environmental Policy and Management
- Environmental Directed Studies
- Informal Environmental Education
- Depending upon which catalog you are graduating from, below you can track either the:
- Core Curriculum Requirements (current) or
- General Education Requirements
*If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can obtain a reasonably priced student version from the Office of Technology Services and all computers on campus have Microsoft Office.
