A native New Yorker, Miriam double majored in Mathematics and Astronomy as an undergraduate at Barnard College. As a member of the initial cohort of Math for America Newton Fellows, she earned a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from New York University. She also holds a master’s degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Montclair State University. Most recently, Miriam received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Wesleyan University in May 2019. Her primary mathematical interests are in model theory, an area of mathematical logic, and graph theory, with a particular interest in combinatorial games.
