Biography

Dr. Tomayko joined the mathematics faculty in 2007. She earned her B.A. in secondary mathematics education from Washington University in St. Louis and both her M.Ed. and Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Maryland College Park. She taught high school mathematics in Montgomery County Public Schools, mathematics for gifted elementary students at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, and various mathematics education courses at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Tomayko has an interest in teacher education, teacher induction, and professional development. She is currently a member of the American Educational Research Association, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, and the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
