'LaborStay' the weekend

Towson University’s campus is THE place to be over this Labor Day weekend, as the office of Student Activities is hosting its annual LaborStay Weekend.

Student Activities staff is looking to once again demonstrate that it's cool to stay at school over Labor Day weekend by hosting outdoor movies, activities, parties, giveaways and of course every student’s favorite: free food!

The events are sponsored by various student affairs departments at Towson University and designed to provide students some different activities they might not get to experience anywhere else.

“The events happening during the holiday weekend are designed to provide a fun, engaging, and connecting time for our students,” said B. Nathan, director of student activities. “This weekend is a perfect opportunity to meet other students, hang with friends, and to simply enjoy activities of various sorts.”

Some of the highlight events of the weekend include:

 

Saturday, September 3

“BBQ to Dye For”
2-4 p.m. at PAWS Pavilion.

Come out to the University Union for free burgers, hot dogs and do-it-yourself tie-dye.

"Wet N’ Wild"
3- 7 p.m. at Towsontown Field

Looking to beat the heat? Grab your friends and take on an epic water gun battle or ride down the giant waterslide.

Towson Football Season Opener Watch Party
6 p.m. at PAWS Café

Come cheer on your Towson Tigers as they take on South Florida on the road in the first football game of the season. Free wings at halftime, while supplies last.

Movie Night
8 p.m. at the West Village Amphitheater

Watch a movie under the stars! We’ll be showing “Captain America: Civil War”

Sunday, September 4^th

Bubble Soccer and Hamster Balls
2-5 p.m. at Burdick Field

Check out this remix of bumper cars, sumo wrestling and soccer. Anyone can play, no matter your age or sports-playing skill.

"The Swag Surf"
4–8 p.m. at Burdick Pool

Come make some waves and cool down during an open swim session at the Towson University pool.

"Rev Up Your Room"
5-8 p.m. at the Potomac Lounge

You know all those Pinterest crafts you have been dying to make? Well this event will have all the supplies you need to make custom coasters, key hooks, photo frames and more!

"Bashment Party" Cookout
7-11 p.m. at PAWS Pavilion

Come out to the Union for some free jerk chicken, games, music and friends!

"Screen on the Green"
8 -11 p.m. at the Speaker Circle

Grab your blanket and your friends for an a special screening of “The Jungle Book” under the stars!
