Cook Library Starbucks opens to crowds, excitement
Café has doubled in size after fall renovations
More space, more registers, and more menu items to choose from: the renovated Cook Library Starbucks opened its doors last week to much anticipation from the campus community.
“We are excited about the opening of the newly renovated Starbucks in Cook Library,” said SGA representative Kaitlyn McClanahan. “TU students missed their caffeine fix, and so far we have seen nothing but a positive response.”
The renovation doubled the size of the café, which now offers additional guest seating and a second register to serve customers. Space for the order line has moved inside the café to reduce congestion in the Library lobby.
“The renovation allows us to serve more customers and provide a space for people to sit with friends,” said Associate Vice President of Auxiliary Services Dan Slattery “It helps us better meet customer demand.”
The renovated café serves a full food menu including hot breakfast sandwiches and wraps with expanded hours. The café is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Mobile orders are available via the Tapingo app.
Another new thing about the cafe is its cups. TU is one of the first Starbucks locations nationwide to use compostable hot and cold beverage cups. After drinking your beverage, you can compost your Starbucks cup in the composting containers in any campus dining location.
