Towson University sees over 2,300 graduates turn into alumni
Towson University welcomed 2,339 new alumni with pomp and circumstance during the 2017 Winter Commencement ceremonies on Dec. 20–21 at SECU Arena.
On Wednesday morning, students of the College of Education and the College of Fine Arts and Communication walked the Commencement stage. Later that afternoon, students from the College of Business and Economics and the College of Health Professions were front and center.
This year’s Winter Commencement had a bigger feel than last year, with almost 600 more students walking across the stage than 2016’s ceremonies. The College of Liberal Arts had the most students graduating (624), while the College of Business and Economics (416), the College of Health Professions (452) and the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (425) honored over 400 graduates during their ceremonies. CHP handed out the most graduate degrees (120), while Fisher had the most doctoral degree candidates (six) and the College of Education was right behind (five).
