Men's lacrosse locks down No. 1 seed in CAA Tournament
Men's and women's teams will host their respective CAA Tournaments at Unitas Stadium later this week

After all of the pomp going into Senior Day, the Towson University men's lacrosse
team carried that over onto the field as the 16th ranked Tigers upended No. 9 Hofstra University 10-8 at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium.
The Tigers put up 15 points in the game on 10 goals and five assists, with all 15
of those points coming from the Class of 2017. Tyler Young had a career with four goals while Joe Seider had a hat trick as well.
By virtue of the win, the Tigers (8-4, 4-1 CAA) will host the upcoming Colonial Athletic
Association (CAA) Men's Lacrosse Championship next weekend.
Towson earned the No. 1 seed with the win and will play No. 4 Drexel (6-7, 3-2 CAA)
on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Unitas Stadium. The second semifinal will pit No. 2 Hofstra
(11-2, 3-2 CAA) against No. 3 UMass (6-7, 3-2 CAA) at 7:30 p.m. The CAA Semifinals
will be carried on the Lax Sports Network.
The 2017 CAA Championship game will be played at 1 p.m. and broadcast on the American
Sports Network (ASN).
Towson women's team also hosting CAA tourney at The U
Meantime, the Towson University women's lacrosse team opened up an 11-1 halftime lead and rolled to an 18-5 win over local rival Johns Hopkins
on Sunday afternoon in the regular season finale.
With the win over the Blue Jays, the Tigers completed a sweep of their Greater Baltimore
rivals -- UMBC, Loyola and Johns Hopkins -- for the second straight season.
Towson will now host the CAA women's tournament later this week at Unitas Stadium. This Friday, May 5, the second-seeded Tigers will face No. 3 seed Elon at 6:30 p.m., following the No. 1 James Madison/No. 4 Delaware semifinal clash.
The championship game will be played on Sunday, May 7.
