Men's lacrosse locks down No. 1 seed in CAA Tournament

Men's and women's teams will host their respective CAA Tournaments at Unitas Stadium later this week

After all of the pomp going into Senior Day, the Towson University men's lacrosse team carried that over onto the field as the 16th ranked Tigers upended No. 9 Hofstra University 10-8 at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium.

The Tigers put up 15 points in the game on 10 goals and five assists, with all 15 of those points coming from the Class of 2017. Tyler Young had a career with four goals while Joe Seider had a hat trick as well.

By virtue of the win, the Tigers (8-4, 4-1 CAA) will host the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men's Lacrosse Championship next weekend.

Towson earned the No. 1 seed with the win and will play No. 4 Drexel (6-7, 3-2 CAA) on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Unitas Stadium. The second semifinal will pit No. 2 Hofstra (11-2, 3-2 CAA) against No. 3 UMass (6-7, 3-2 CAA) at 7:30 p.m. The CAA Semifinals will be carried on the Lax Sports Network.

The 2017 CAA Championship game will be played at 1 p.m. and broadcast on the American Sports Network (ASN).
