Nov. 20, 2018

This Thanksgiving week, friends and family will gather across America to celebrate, reflect and offer thanks for the joy and blessings in their lives.

Indeed there is much to be thankful for at Towson University— the meaningful learning and scholarly work we advance, our richly diverse and engaged campus community, and our colleagues and classmates who add so much to our lives.

American novelist and Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker offered a thoughtful reflection on the power of thanks. She said, “Thank you is the best prayer that anyone could say…Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.”

I am very thankful to all of you for dedicating your talent and time to lift up our university, our Greater Baltimore community, and our state of Maryland.

On behalf of my husband Trevor and our entire family, I wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.

Kim Schatzel, Ph.D.
