What to know at TU as snow is in the forecast
With snow in the forecast, here's what you need to know as a member of the Towson University community.

The local forecast calls for the potential for snow turning to rain on Thursday, Nov. 15, with a high of 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the event of severe weather, the Towson University administration begins considering action between 5 and 5:30 a.m. The vice president for administration and finance consults with the associate vice president for public safety and chief of police as well as the associate vice president of facilities management.
At that time, they discuss the forecast, the condition of the campus and the known road conditions from Baltimore County and surrounding police jurisdictions. They deliberate with the information they have available and then decide, generally before 6 a.m., about campus closing, opening late, or remaining open without delay.
If the decision is to close or delay, Communications and Media Relations then posts the news on the TU homepage, notifies the media, and records announcements on TU’s 410-704-2000 and 410-704-NEWS phone lines. The TU Police Department will send a campus-wide email announcement and text message alerts to those who have signed up to receive them.
For more information on delays and closures and how that affects buildings and services on campus, please visit our emergency closing page.
