Towson University is an engaging, outcome-oriented campus with programs that rank among the best in the nation according to a pair of the most recent rankings lists for colleges and universities.
In fact, if Niche.com was a professor, TU would make the Dean’s List. The website gave TU high marks across the board, but “A” grades in student life, diversity, value and location.
Niche also scored some of TU’s programs among the highest in the nation. In particular, TU has the No. 50 program for Information Technology in the U.S. and No. 67 program for Sports Management in the U.S., according to the rankings. In addition to having a number of student life-oriented kudos for TU, Niche.com also gave high marks for being one of the top-100 “Big Colleges In America,” and among the best public universities in the U.S., as well.
The Wall Street Journal / Times Higher Education rankings were announced this week, and placed TU among the top public institutions in the nation. The pillar for the rankings in which TU earned its highest recognition was for the outcomes for students — measuring factors like the salaries graduates earn and the debt burden they carry. Additionally, TU was listed as one of the more engaging campuses — a nod to the level of interaction between faculty and students.
TU was joined in the rankings among public institutions by the University of Maryland, College Park, UMBC and Salisbury.
TU has already received national and international accolades in recent weeks from publications such as Forbes, Princeton Review, Money Magazine and Center for World University Rankings.
