Tigers looking for a quiet, peaceful place to study or work will find it at the Glen Dining Hall.
Fresh off more than a year of renovations, the new Glen Dining Hall has been modernized with a sleek, new design that focuses on sustainability. While full-service dining remains closed, the large, open space is now available as a walk-in study or work space.
“We know that many students are in search of quiet spaces with Wi-Fi access for their classes or studying, and we are pleased to be able to offer this beautiful facility in addition to space in Cook Library,” says Melanie Perreault, provost and executive vice president for academic and student affairs.
Perreault said that the space provides those students who live off campus a quiet, safe and reliable place to access internet and quiet study space.
The Glen will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. Students must show their OneCard to enter.

The glass-walled space surrounded by trees offers Tigers a relaxing place to focus. New tables and chairs and an open floor plan provide ample space while remaining physically distanced from others.

The second floor, which was mostly empty space prior to the renovation, now features a seating area as well as a coffee bar with take-out service. Through the end of the month, free coffee will be available through Dining Services.
“We are happy that students can still enjoy and use the space,” says Associate Director of Facilities Management Nicholas Gingue. “We hope that the students still living on campus and the students still having to come to campus for some classes can use this space as a quiet retreat to get their work done.”
In addition to The Glen, Cook Library is available as a quiet study space with computer, printer and Wi-Fi access. For more details and live occupancy numbers, visit the library website.
