#TUtogether Giving Days support campus diversity
Three-day campaign celebrates equity, inclusion and nontraditional students
November 5, 2020
Towson University is committed to advancing equitable access, inclusive learning and engagement in a highly diverse community.
That’s why the “#TUtogether Giving Days” campaign, to be held Nov. 10-12, is so important. The campaign will support three different areas in the institution: the Office of Inclusion & Institutional Equity, TU Hillel and TU Military and Veterans Center."
What we would like to accomplish is for our community to support any of our programs that stand on the foundation of inclusion and institutional equity," says Nky S. McGinnis,Ph.D., director of the annual campaign. "This November, we are celebrating diversity, equity, inclusion and the wonderful work that our institution has done to ensure that everyone can feel safe, wanted, needed, appreciated and successful."
Philanthropy is one way the TU community fulfills this role. TU continues to build a culture that works for every member, funding scholarships, running programs and cultural events and supporting diverse student organizations.
"There’s never been a more important time for the TU community to support each other," says McGinnis. "Stay tuned Nov. 10 for more stories of how we are transforming lives in 2020 and beyond. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating what make us #TUtogether!"
This story is one of several related to President Kim Schatzel’s priorities for Towson University: TU Matters to Maryland, Diverse and Inclusive Campus, Culture of Philanthropy and Strategic Plan Alignment.
