The Towson University community is giving in record numbers.
The annual, one-day TU Big Give, held on April 21, resulted in a three-year best 1,450 donors and secured more than $140,000 in support of key projects throughout the community.
“This year’s TU Big Give has been shown to be really big,” says Nky McGinnis, director of the annual campaign. “This, without a doubt, shows us that when we come together, there is nothing that we cannot accomplish. I am so proud to be a Tiger, and I am pretty sure that others are too!”
Contributions benefited all six colleges and the Honors College, Albert S. Cook Library, Athletics, TU Student Emergency Funds, unrestricted funds, BTU- Partnerships for Greater Baltimore, Student Affairs and the Office of Inclusion & Institutional Equity.
“I am truly inspired by the results that we achieve from TU Big Give and the enthusiasm it creates around philanthropy,” says TU Vice President of University Advancement Brian DeFilippis. “This year, TU Big Give has created significant momentum for the public launch of our historic RISE Campaign, which will profoundly transform our university.”
Last year, 1,300 donors participated in the second TU Big Give, which was a significant success and secured much-needed support for emergency funds to support students, faculty, and staff.
Philanthropic giving is gaining momentum at Towson University, and it has been on full display over the past year. A series of large gifts have helped TU raise more than $14 million toward its annual goal of $14.5 million.
