As the calendar turns to December, Tigers across Towson University’s campus prepare to roar into finals. The TU community is also getting excited to celebrate various holidays with fun and relaxing events.

Here are some of the events, programs and information students need before winter break.

The Blizzard

Explore various winter holidays and cultural celebrations at The Blizzard, formerly known as TU Holiday. The event offers a holiday and wintertime culture showcase featuring multiple departments and student organizations as well as winter-themed activities and food. There will also be a headphone disco and an indoor snowball fight.

Destress December Eco-Craftivism

Wednesday, Dec. 7 | University Union Ballroom A | 4–6 p.m.

Learn about sustainable holiday practices while enjoying hot cocoa and some holiday-themed treats and creating beautiful and sustainable holiday decor with greenery provided by Towson University’s landscaping service. An RSVP is required to attend through Involved@TU.

Finals | Dec. 14–20

Check out the Towson University website for a complete finals schedule

If students need a place to study, the Albert S. Cook Library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students can also reserve a room for group study and presentation practice.

They should also take advantage of all services offered by the new Academic Commons area on the library’s third floor.

Relax and Pet a Dog

Various dates and locations

On Monday, Dec. 12, Pets on Wheels will be back in either Cook Library Room 340 or 342 with therapy dogs. Students can sign up for a 15-minute timeslot; walk-ins will be accommodated only if timeslots are available.

Students can also destress by working out at the Campus Recreation Center at Burdick Hall or by using the different programs offered by the Health and Counseling Center.
