Members of the men's and women's basketball teams have reason to celebrate this season as both have 20 wins.

February hoops fever has landed at Towson University just in time for March Madness.

For the first time in TU history, both basketball programs have won at least 20 games in the same season. The men are 21-7 and 10-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), while the women are 20-5 and 11-3 in the CAA. The women's team's 20 wins are the most during a regular season for the program.

TU is one of just eight Division I schools to have both teams with 20 wins.

The men's team most recently earned an 80-77 comeback victory on the road against Charleston. TU's 21 wins are the most in the program since the 2013-14 campaign, when Towson was 25-11. The women's team also beat Charleston, 84-57 over the weekend.

TU's women's basketball coach Diane Richardson took to Twitter to share her joy about TU's basketball success.

A large crowd is expected as the men return to SECU Arena Wednesday at 7 p.m. against James Madison. Students can get a free ticket on the GameDay app.

Vernon Hurte, vice president of student affairs at TU, called on the Tiger community to "pack SECU."

Both teams will seek to carry momentum into tournament play. The CAA men's tournament will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. March 5-8. Drexel will host the CAA women's basketball tournament March 10-13 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia.
