Walter Donoughe

“Through civic engagement roles, like being a Student Ambassador for the United Nations Academic Impact and a student member for the TU Votes Committee, I worked with my peers to develop strategies to combat poverty and expand voter participation in the Baltimore area. These were all rewarding experiences that reaffirmed my commitment to public service—and I’m grateful to have the chance to make a difference as a TU student.”

Donoughe is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in political science  with minors in economics and international studies. He is also a member of the Towson University Honors College

Solomon Burrow

“I went back to school at 37 to finish, and it was right after my dad died. He asked me right before he passed to go back and finish. But it was also a major accomplishment for myself because this is a chapter that I can finally close. I always dreamt about going to Towson and finishing film school, so the stars were aligned.

Don’t give up and hang in there, because it’s never too late to finish your dream. You’ve got one life to live, do it by trying to be happy. Crossing this stage is going to mean everything."

Burrow is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in electronic media and film.

Embrace Ogbu

“Graduating is what I have longed for since freshman year of college and now that I am at the end it feels surreal but it’s happening. This accomplishment means more open doors to me. Doors of opportunity and growth.”

To my fellow graduates, this is not the end of the finish line yet, there is more to learn and acquire. And to others pursuing their degrees at TU, do not give up! The end seems far and unpromising but it’s not. The sense of accomplishment will make it all worthwhile. Take it one step at a time to the finish line.”

Ogbu is graduating with a bachelor’s degrees in business administration and business systems and processes

Victoria Oji

“The thing that has been most impactful about my TU experience involves the connections I have developed with my colleagues. I have learned a lot from the personal and professional experiences of my peers. Their insights have been especially valuable on various projects I have been assigned in my courses.”

Oji will be graduating with a master's degree in health sciences and administration.

Alexis Guethler

“My program prepared me before I was even finished to get a job in my field. I’m now an instructional designer, and Towson University taught me to develop inclusive courses for higher education students from community college to graduate school.

The Instructional Technology doctorate allowed us to bring great ideas from our own careers, grow those ideas into expertise, and then provided mentoring so we could do original research. Along the way, our faculty helped us to build a learning community where students support each other and share our experiences to make us all better educators.”

Guethler will be graduating with a doctoral degree in instructional technology.

Ahmad Alrashidy

The most impactful experience for me was taking a mechanics course by Dr. Jeffrey Simpson. We spent a considerable time after classes discussing how to use the calculus of variations to determine the optimal path for a race car around a ramp. It was then that I realized that I have developed a deep passion for solving physics problems using math and code. Determined to get back on track to achieve my goal of becoming a scientist, I joined the graduate applied physics program.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be a Tiger for the past seven years, and no matter where I end up, I will always be a Tiger at heart.

Alrashidy will be graduating with their master’s degree in applied physics
