Thanks to dedicated volunteers, Towson University's commencement ceremonies always provide graduates with a memorable experience.

Timm Baldwin, associate vice president of marketing and brand strategy at TU, has volunteered as an usher for each of the last 11 commencement ceremonies. Baldwin looks forward to commencement and says it is, “The culmination of everything we do at TU. Seeing the students walking the stage and seeing how happy their family and friends are reminds me of the importance of the work we do.”

Now is your chance to support graduating students and volunteer for one of the 300 positions available during Spring Commencement.

Open volunteer positions include:

  • Shuttle assistant
  • Directing crowd flow
  • Mobility transport
  • Providing parking and ushering services
  • And many more

Volunteers also offer grads assistance in the robing area and during the processional and recessional.

Chris Rindosh, coordinator of student organizations in student activities, has been at TU for 15 years. Rindosh enjoys volunteering for commencement and says, "My favorite part of volunteering is meeting the parents and family members of those students I’ve worked closely with and getting to brag about how incredible their student is. The amount of pride and joy you can feel from their smiles, there’s nothing quite like it."

Keisha Bownes, executive administrative assistant for University Marketing and Communications, is a frequent commencement volunteer and says she is, “Proud to be a part of a community that can provide such a lasting gift, and a sense of pride, for each one of our graduates."
