TU community demonstrates its commitment to civic engagement and social responsibility at annual day of local service

Impact TU: Local Action for Social Change, formerly The Big Event, is back in full force this year. TU’s annual day of community service took place on April 20, and brought with it beautiful weather and excitement from participants just in time for Earth Day.

With 550 students registered across student organizations, Impact TU supported local neighborhoods and the city center of the Towson community through hands-on projects focused on environmental sustainability, economic security, social well-being and civic engagement. Ahead of their day of service, students gained additional education on the value of their involvement and the importance of creating sustainable communities.
