What you need to know for finals, winter break
From updated hours of operation to important reminders, here’s what you need to know
The end of the semester is about a week away. Use the information below to prepare for finals and your long-awaited, well-earned winter break.
Finals Week
Final exams will be held from Tues., Dec. 10, to Mon., Dec. 16. Make sure you know your final exam schedule! Learn more about about resources around campus during finals week to help you ace your exams below.
Library Services
The building is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Dec. 9–16.
Reserve a private room for group study and presentation practice. Other available areas include Zoom rooms and study pods on the third floor and quiet study zones. The Student Help Desk will be offering headphones, earplugs, study kits and busy bags. Visit the Academic Commons area for tutoring services, research support and accessibility and disability resources.
After finals, the library’s hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Dec. 17–20. From Dec. 21 – Jan. 1, the library is closed. However, TU affiliates have access to the library 24/7 with their OneCard.
The library hours for minimester will begin Thurs., Jan 2.
Writing Center
The Writing Center is open to help students prepare for finals. All students are welcome to schedule an appointment either in-person or virtually. It is in the College of Liberal Arts in room 5330 or in Cook Library on the third floor.
Counseling Center Services
Mondays through Fridays | 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
The Counseling Center is open every day leading up to the break for you to vent stress and frustrations about exam season.
It will be closed from Dec. 23 to Jan 1.
Office of the Registrar
If you still need to register for classes, don’t wait! The last day is Tues., Feb. 4, but some classes may close sooner. To see the full list of academic deadlines and milestones, visit the academic calendar.
If you have any holds, be sure to email your adviser to get them lifted in time.
Winter Break
BWI and Penn Station Shuttles
Parking and Transportation Services offers a complimentary Winter Break shuttle from TU’s campus to BWI Airport and Baltimore Penn Station for students, faculty, and staff. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations are required. There will be no return shuttles.
Housing
All traditional residence halls will close at 9 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 17, and will reopen at 12 p.m. on Sat., Jan 25. Tigers cannot stay in their dorm rooms over break.
