Traditional residence halls close during Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks, but students in 9-month communities (Barnes, Marshall, Millennium, Residence Tower, Towson Run) and Harris residents with 9-month contracts can stay.

During these periods, students are unable to remain in their building and must vacate their respective communities. 9-Month Communities (Barnes Hall, Marshall Hall, Millenium Hall, Residence Tower, Towson Run) and students in Harris Hall with nine-month contracts are permitted to stay during all break periods.
Students are not required to remove any belongings during any break period throughout the academic year. However, students should take any essential items:
During May (End of Academic Year) Closing and any students who are approved for Approved Mid-Year Cancellations move outs, all students need to remove all their belongings and return their rooms/units in move-in condition by the required dates. This includes students in 9-Month Communities.
