Directions & Parking
Towson University is located eight miles north of downtown Baltimore, about an hour north of Washington, D.C., and three hours south of New York City. Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is located about 45 minutes south of Towson. Train service is available out of Baltimore’s Penn Station, 20 minutes south of campus.

By Car
From I-95 (northbound and southbound): Take the Baltimore Beltway I-695 west (toward Towson). Take exit 25 (Charles Street) south. Proceed 1.7 miles. Turn left on Towsontown Boulevard and proceed to the second traffic light on Osler Drive. Follow the campus signs or refer to the campus map for information about your specific destination.
From I-83 (northbound and southbound): Take the Baltimore Beltway I-695 east (toward Towson). Take exit 25 (Charles Street) south. Proceed 1.7 miles. From Baltimore (Penn Station): Proceed north on Charles Street for five miles. Turn right on Towsontown Boulevard and proceed to the second traffic light on Osler Drive. Follow the campus signs or refer to the campus map for information about your specific destination.
By Bus
Use Google Maps or the Maryland Transit Administration’s Route Planner to locate the best route for you to arrive at Towson University. Local MTA bus routes CityLink 53, CityLink51, CityLink Red, and CityLink 52 have stops located near the campus. Additionally, the Towson Loop is a free transit service in Baltimore County that quickly and conveniently connects riders to stops throughout Towson’s central business district.
By Train
Amtrak serves Pennsylvania Station in Baltimore City. The MTA Bus #11 (to Goucher College) runs between Penn Station and the Bosley/Allegheny Ave. intersection a few blocks from the TU campus, Monday through Friday. On weekends, visitors returning to Penn Station from Towson can take MTA Bus #9 and transfer to either the Light Rail or Bus #3 to reach the station.
By Airplane
The closest airport to Towson University is Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). Approximate travel time (non-rush hour) between BWI and the university is 45 minutes. An airport shuttle runs between the Towson Sheraton and BWI.
