Ceremony Information
The installation ceremony for Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D. as Towson University’s 15th president took place on Friday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at TU Arena.
The Procession
The academic procession included TU faculty and staff members, delegates from institutions of higher education, student and alumni delegates, the TU Foundation Board, the USM Board of Regents, elected officials and other distinguished guests.
Those participating in the procession were adorned in academic regalia except for student and alumni delegates, who wore inaugural stoles.
Ceremony Highlights
Music played a key role in the ceremony, with a wide variety of selections and performers that showcased Towson University’s diverse and talented students, faculty and alumni.
University System of Maryland Chancellor Jay Perman and Board of Regents Chair Linda Gooden conducted the formal investiture in which President Ginsberg was officially endowed with the powers and responsibilities of the presidency.
The investiture was followed by President Ginsberg’s inaugural address.
All guests were invited to the arena concourse for a reception immediately following the ceremony.
