Commencement Safety
For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, please review the list of items not permitted in the TU Arena. We ask that you kindly leave these items at home.
We are excited to celebrate the achievements of our graduates. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and stellar commencement experience for everyone.
Items to Leave at Home
- outside food and beverages (empty refillable water bottles are permitted)
- sticks, poles, flags and signs of any kind
- illegal drugs
- alcohol (opened or unopened)
- bags/purses larger than 22” x 12” x 8”
- noisemakers of any kind, including air horns
- laser pointers
- weapons of any kind
- OC spray, pepper spray and mace
- e-cigarettes and vapes
- non-ADA compliant service and comfort animals
- selfie sticks, Go-Pro cameras, tripods or monopods
- skateboards, hoverboards, bicycles or scooters
- drones or flying devices
- chairs
- large and golf-type umbrellas
- coolers
- paint, glitter, markers, confetti or streamers
- helium balloons
- cameras with lenses over 8 inches, or that obstruct the view of others
- hard plastic masks or helmets
Additional Safety Procedures
Towson University reserves the right to inspect all bags, purses and items.
To ensure everyone’s safety, wanding will be conducted of each guest entering the facilities. You will not be granted access to the facility if you refuse this procedure.
TU is a smoke-free campus.
