Kristin DiPeso

For business administration major Kristin DiPeso, choosing to attend Towson University meant following in the big footsteps of her father, a 1985 graduate and model of drive and dedication for his daughter.

“The way he is, where he is today, I wanted that too,” says DiPeso.

Anyone who meets the marketing major knows she inherited many of the qualities she admires in her dad.

Just ask the heads of Full Moon Marketing and Events (FMM), the local company contracted by MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network) to run events and marketing for the Baltimore Orioles. They hired DiPeso because of her passion and perseverance.

A lifelong baseball fan, DiPeso has wished to work for the Orioles since she was a kid. So when she heard that MASN, which broadcasts the games, might take interns, she decided it was time to make it happen. Multiple attempts to get her resume seen by the right person were unsuccessful, though.

“ A lot of people told me to give up, but I wanted this job. ”

“A lot of people told me to give up,” laughs DiPeso, “but I wanted this job.”

Armed with her resume and boundless enthusiasm, DiPeso went to Orioles FanFest and gave one of the Full Moon founders her pitch face-to-face.

Persistence paid off.

Now, DiPeso gets to help plan FanFest, as well as working promotions and giveaways for FMM/MASN.

Plus, the relationships she’s built led her to another opportunity as a marketing and promotions intern with Baltimore’s 98 Rock/WBAL TV & Radio.

Looks like DiPeso, who is also vice president for the Towson University student chapter of the American Marketing Association, is building her dream career. And making her father proud.
