Mapping Community Navigation
The purpose of the Mapping Community Navigation (MCN-MCI) project is to determine the current status and potential need for cognitive health promotion programs and education programs for businesses in Baltimore County. We are particularly interested in how individuals with cognitive changes and their care-partners engage in community activities. Research suggests that a community’s environmental features may provide supports or barriers to the ability of an individual with cognitive changes to engage in the basic daily life functions. This research will contribute to a better understanding of this relationship.
Eligibility
You may be eligible to participate if:
- you are 65 years of age or older
- you live at home (non-institutional setting) in the Baltimore Metro Area
- you have experienced cognitive changes such as short-term memory gaps, community mobility challenges, or slowed mental processes
- you leave home 4 or more times per week
Research Activities
Research activities include two meetings with researchers during the course of a normal day. This will be scheduled at your convenience and in a location of your choosing. The total time commitment will be less than 4 hours. All participants completing the pilot program will receive a $60 gift card.
NOTE: Enrollment for MCN-MCI is now closed.
