Admission Criteria
- No GRE scores are required.
- A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 is required for full admission to the program, and 2.75 is required for conditional admission. All GPA calculations for admission are based upon the last 60 credits of undergraduate and post-baccalaureate study. See graduate admissions policies for more information.

Before submitting the application, students must complete the written Spanish language proficiency test. Students who score below an intermediate high rating will be required to take up to two prerequisite courses within the graduate program to prepare them to begin the five-course certificate program. Email pbcspanish AT_TOWSON for more information.
- At the request of the Graduate Program Director, a statement of intent may be required. A statement of intent in Spanish (500 words) including previous preparation in Spanish (studies, degrees earned, lived experience, and work), interest in the Graduate Certificate in Spanish, and potential impact of the Graduate Certificate on professional and personal goals.
