TAM Summer Leadership Institute

In order to prepare high school teachers to provide Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) curriculum, two weeks of professional development is required. Three summer institutes are offered for two weeks in July. The first week prepares educators to teach the Human Growth and Development through Adolescence course, and the second week training is dedicated to Teaching as a Profession and Curriculum and Instruction. A third optional professional development experience, the advanced institute, is offered for educators who have completed the first two institutes. This advanced institute allows current TAM educators to explore topics that affect the content and processes of the TAM.
