Admission Criteria
- No GRE scores are required.
- A baccalaureate degree, preferably in art, from a regionally accredited college or university.
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (on a 4-point scale) is required for full admission to the program, and 2.75 is required for conditional admission. GPA calculations may be based upon the cumulative units or the last 60 units of the degree. See graduate admission policies for more information.
Application Requirements
Submit an online application, application fee and official transcripts, along with:
- Letters of Recommendation: 2 letters of recommendation (email addresses of recommenders must be entered on application)
- Submit the following through Slideroom.com (there is a fee to set up an account):
- Portfolio: A portfolio of 15-20 images or a maximum of 15 minutes of video or animation. The portfolio should be a cohesive body of work. Include the date, media, size, and title for each piece of work.
- Letter of Intent: A letter of intent which describes your artistic or design practice, your current influences and outlines what you hope to achieve in the MFA Studio Arts program.
- Resume: A current professional resume
Additional Requirements for International Applicants
U.S. Immigration requires F1 and J1 students to be enrolled full-time with the majority of their classes taken in-person and on campus. Program Completion
To graduate, you need 60 credits. Generally the MFA Graduate Program can be completed in 3 years if full time.
