Stephanie Shea
Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel
Stephanie joined the Office of the General Counsel in July, 2024. Before joining Towson University, Stephanie spent nine years in the Johns Hopkins University Office of General Counsel, where she advised university clients on all areas of higher education law and also served as the university’s chief compliance officer. Stephanie graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and received her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Immediately after law school, Stephanie clerked for the Honorable William D. Quarles, Jr., United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and was subsequently a litigation associate at WilmerHale in Washington, D.C.

Lily Reynolds
Senior Associate General Counsel
Lily joined the Office of the General counsel in January 2025. Prior to joining Towson University, Lily served for more than six years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General where she represented Maryland's public institutions of higher education before federal and state courts and administrative bodies. Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, Lily served for six years as an associate in the Labor and Employment practice group at Venable LLP. Lily received her undergraduate degree in English from Boston University and her law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law.

Steve Book
Senior Associate General Counsel
Steve joined the Office of the General Counsel in January 2025. Before coming to Towson University, Steve served as associate general counsel in Johns Hopkins University's Office of the General Counsel, where he advised university clients on a wide range of compliance matters and lead the development and review of university policies. Steve also previously worked in Johns Hopkins University's Office of Institutional Equity. Steve received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2006 and was a graduate of UMD’s Honors College. He obtained his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2010. Immediately after law school, Steve clerked for the Honorable Patrick L. Woodward, Appellate Court of Maryland, and was subsequently a litigation associate at Kramon & Graham, P.A. in Baltimore.

Bruce Griffin
Chief Compliance and Risk Officer
Bruce joined the Office of the General Counsel in April 2020. Bruce most recently served as the Director of The Center for Sport Science and Risk Management at US Lacrosse, The National Governing Body for the Sport. Prior to this, he has served in roles within higher education as the Chief Risk Officer, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Environmental Safety, Director of Health and Safety, and Safety Inspector at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Duke University Medical Center, and North Carolina State University. Bruce earned a B.S. in Industrial Technology from the University of Maryland, a M.S. in Occupational Safety from East Carolina University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Bruce is a Certified Safety Professional, an Associate in Risk Management, and a Graduate Member of the IOSH (UK).

Danielle Myers
Paralegal
Danielle joined the Office of the General Counsel in September 2018. She earned her B.S. in Electronic Media and Film from Towson University in 2012. Prior to joining Towson, Danielle worked at a private law firm in the Towson area. She provides support to the Office of General Counsel attorneys in all aspects of legal research, responding to subpoenas and public records request, and managing legal technology resources.

Paula Zyne
Executive Administrative Assistant
Paula joined the Office of the General Counsel in April 2023. She has worked at Towson University since 2006 in various administrative support roles in the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Fine Arts and Communication. Paula earned her B.A. in Art History from Towson University in 2016. She provides executive level administrative support to the staff in the Office of the General Counsel.
