Position Information
Qualifications to Apply:
Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
Must be in your second semester as a Community Center Assistant at time of applying
for position
Must be a residential student living in either university housing, Harris Hall/Tubman
Houses or Millennium Hall for 2024 – 2025 (Housing deposit must be paid)
Must not be on student conduct probation
May not be a Resident Assistant for 2024 – 2025 academic year
This position is eligible for work study
Community Center Manager Responsibilities
The functions of a CCM are made up of three components: leadership and supervision,
community development and engagement, and administration.
Leadership and Supervision
Evaluating and selecting CCAs with guidance from RLC
Holding CCAs accountable for performance
Developing CC staff and bridge relationship with Resident Assistant (RA) Staff
Fostering relationships with each CCA through one-on-one meetings separate from evaluations
(one per semester)
Facilitating monthly CC staff meetings
Liaising with RA staff by attending staff meetings at the discretion of the RLC
Attending biweekly one-on-one meeting with Residence Life Coordinator for continuous
development in position and performance feedback
Presenting during trainings for CCAs and CCMs (as assigned)
Assisting Housing & Residence Life in furthering the CC program and representing their
staff views (meeting attendance strongly encouraged)
Community Development and Engagement
Customer Service and resident interactions
Appearance of CC desk
CC desk operations
Role modeling positive leadership development to both staff and residents
Serve as Community Center Assistant on duty (work one weekly shift minimum)
Liaison with Building Council to maintain connection with CC and CC Staff (strongly
encouraged)
Share ongoing issues and needs
Oversee implementation of any programs involving CC
Network with area CCMs to develop area consistency and community
Administration
Create any necessary procedures to meet needs unique to residence hall
Facilitate the opening (August) and closing (May) of the Community Center including
resident move-in and move-out
Train RA staff on Community Center operations as directed by RLC
Hold office hours at the Community Center to maintain strong presence
Monitor the completion of logs and forms (spare keys, student information cards, sticker
logs, etc.)
Manage Community Center supplies and coordinate any restocking
