Mission
The International Student and Scholar Office endeavors to:
- Maintain compliance of Towson University and our international faculty, students and staff with federal immigration regulations
- Retain international students by providing support and coordinating services and programs that enhance their academic and co-curricular success
- Engage Towson University’s community by providing an environment for cross-cultural dialogue, global involvement, and inclusion.
Over 90 percent of the almost 400 international students at Towson University are here for two to four years, working on an undergraduate or graduate degree. The additional students are enrolled at the English Language Center or are on an exchange semester or year from one of our international partner universities. Most of our visiting faculty and exchange visitors are here for a semester or a year.
In Fall 2024, TU has F-1 students from 78 countries enrolled. Our top five countries for F-1 students are Nigeria, India, China, Canada and Nepal.
