Summer Art: Grades 6-12
This summer, the TU Community Art Center will be offering morning and afternoon 2-week programs for youth entering grades 6 – 9. Our programs are specially designed to inspire and nurture middle school youth of all abilities. Participants will use a wide range of materials, learn new skills, and learn about artists and art traditions in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment.
Grades 6 – 9 Programs
- Three, 2-week sessions
- Monday – Friday | Full and Half Day Options
- TU staff supervised "bring your own lunch" hour is provided for participants registered for BOTH morning and afternoon (no additional fee).
- Staff: TU’s Art Ed and Studio Art alumni and current graduate students
Digital Studio
Two-Week Sessions | Mornings 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Grades 6 – 9
Youth entering grades 6 – 9 of all abilities will have an opportunity to explore the world of digital art-making. Participants will use a range of digital methods and computer programs to create artworks that may include digital photography, digital drawing, and animation. They will acquire new skills and learn about new media artists to inspire creative expression in a supportive studio environment.
Every session offers different projects and challenges for those enrolled for multiple weeks.

Drawing & Painting Studio
Two-Week Sessions | Afternoons 1 – 4 p.m. | Grades 6 – 9
This workshop is designed for youth entering grades 6 – 9 of all abilities who love to draw and paint! Participants will have the opportunity to create works of art from imagination and observation using a variety of 2D media. They will acquire new skills and learn about artists and art traditions to inspire their creative expression in a supportive studio environment.
Every session offers different projects and challenges for those enrolled for multiple weeks.

Please note: We cannot accommodate partial sessions.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations more than 2 weeks before the first day of a session will receive a full tuition refund (minus a $50 cancellation fee)
- Cancellations 2 weeks before the start of a session will receive 75% tuition refund
- Cancellations 1 week before the start of a session will receive 50% tuition refund
- No refunds will be issued on or after the first day, whether or not the student attended
