Fed Challenge

The College Fed Challenge is a competition designed to bring real-world economics into the classroom.

The College Fed Challenge is a national academic competition sponsored by the Federal Reserve System, designed for undergraduate students.

Participants form teams to:

  • analyze economic and financial conditions
  • formulate a monetary policy recommendation
  • make presentations to a panel of judges comprising economists and policymakers from the Federal Reserve

Winning teams from regional competitions advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C.

Preparing to Compete

Students will participate in regular meetings leading up to the Challenge to:

  • Conduct research on current economic and financial conditions.
  • Gather and analyze data to support monetary policy recommendations.
  • Give mock presentations at local agencies and companies.
  • Collaborate on refining the final script.
