Upsilon Phi Delta National Honor Society
The purpose of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society is to further the professional competence and dedication of the individual members in and for the profession of healthcare management.
This purpose is achieved by:
- recognizing students who achieve distinction in healthcare administration studies in universities and colleges
- motivating academic excellence in students studying healthcare administration
- recognizing, by means of granting honorary memberships, individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the profession
- upholding and developing high professional standards and ethics for members of the profession
The official colors of Upsilon Phi Delta are crimson red and cobalt blue. The official flower is the rose.
Members are selected on the basis of academic achievements, service to the community and/or contributions to the healthcare management profession. Members must have a GPA of 3.25 overall, a GPA of 3.5 or greater and have completed 18 credits within the HCMN major. In response to COVID-19, UPD has waived the usual $25 application fee. Students can submit applications as a PDF document by emailing Professor Susan Casciani at scasciani AT_TOWSON Monday through Friday. New members will have the option to be officially inducted into the honor society during the Department of Health Sciences’ Awards & Honor Society event held each Spring (tenative to the development of COVID-19).
