The Department of Computer & Information Sciences offers a wide range of academic options to prepare you for the rapidly growing and changing field of computing.

Cybersecurity Designations

Cybersecurity Track

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences, with over 40 faculty and 1,200 undergraduate majors, started one of the first undergraduate cybersecurity tracks in the nation and the first in Maryland. 

National Center of Academic Excellence

The National Security Agency/Department of Homeland Security designated Towson University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education in 2002 and in Cyber Operations in 2013. TU is one of only 19 institutions in the nation to receive the NSA/DHS Cyber Operations designation.
