Internship Registration
See below for information on registering for internships in advertising and public relations, and journalism.
Internship syllabi are linked below. Please read the internship approval criteria in the syllabus before starting the internship search process. Internship coordinators are not available for internship approval June 1 - August 15 or December 15 - January 1.

- MCOM 461 Internship in Journalism (PDF)
Internship registration must be completed within three weeks of the first day of classes for fall and spring semesters, and by the last day of drop/add for minimester and summer semesters.
Also:
- internships are an elective, not a requirement
- MCOM majors may earn a total of 9 internship credits (maximum of three in a semester), but only 6 will count toward the major
- Students cannot earn credits in two consecutive semesters from the same internship
- every 40 hours you work on an approved internship is worth one academic credit
- internships for credit must be approved in advance (see the course syllabi for the approval criteria); non-credit internships do not need approval from the internship coordinators
