Day of Brass & Percussion
Join Towson University’s faculty on Sunday, February 16, 2025 for an enjoyable and educational day of music making and pedagogy.
The event begins at 10 a.m. and culminates in a late afternoon concert by attendees performing side-by-side with TU's brass and percussion faculty in a free concert that family and friends are encouraged to attend. Smaller groups include trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba/euphonium and percussion ensembles. Towson’s dedicated faculty are comprised of full-time and adjunct players that perform with the regions’ premiere ensembles.
Schedule
- 10 a.m. — Check-In (Center for the Arts Lobby)
- 10:30 a.m. — Performances by Towson Brass Quintet and Towson Percussion Group in the Recital Hall
- 10:45 a.m. — Individual Instrument Ensemble Rehearsals
- Percussion - Kaplan Concert Hall and 3071
- Trumpet - 3069
- Horn - 3075
- Trombone - 3077
- Euphonium and Tuba - Recital Hall
- 12:00 p.m. — Lunch - Glen Dining Hall (students must bring a check for $15 made out to Department of Music for lunch)
- 1:15 p.m. — Brass Master Classes- same locations as above
- Percussion Session: Kaplan Concert Hall
- 2:00 p.m. — Mass Brass Ensemble (in 3069) and Percussion Ensemble (Kaplan and 3071)
- 3:15 p.m. — All Brass & Percussion players rehearse in Kaplan Concert Hall
- 3:45 p.m. — Final Performance (free and open to the public) - Kaplan Concert Hall
