The HR Partnerships and Faculty/Staff Relations unit provides departments with a single point of contact, through their HR Partner, for HR needs. Partners offer guidance and support on employee relations matters, policy administration/interpretation, job performance concerns, individual issues about pay and benefits, retention analysis and more. The team promotes effective communications between managers and faculty and staff. They offer formal and informal consultation on conflict resolution and guide supervisors, managers, and administrators in addressing workplace issues to facilitate positive and productive working relationships. The unit also provides compliance support and consultation across all divisions/departments, with focus on HR policies, practices, and all applicable employment regulations.

The Talent Management unit integrates the HR functions of talent planning, acquisition, onboarding, performance, learning and succession planning into an interconnected whole. It provides the structure and tools necessary to recruit, hire, develop and retain Towson University’s highly qualified and diverse workforce.
Within the talent management continuum, HR and the manager work together to guide the employee experience, through every phase of employment — from hire to retirement or transition. The manager delivers guidance through frequent feedback, professional and career development and engagement activities, all of which are aligned with the organization’s short- and long-term goals.
The major objective of HRIS is to increase HR's capacity to leverage and assimilate new and emerging technologies; streamline workflows; maximize the accuracy, reliability, and validity of workforce data; and deploy and collect necessary data and information. HRIS strives to ensure the integrity and relevance of HR information, and works to implement paperless processes. Whether it’s a data extract or report, we aim to deliver excellent customer support and provide quality informational services in a timely fashion.
