On-campus housing for transfer students is very limited so we strongly encourage you to explore alternative and off-campus housing options.

Alternative Housing Options

We strongly encourage transfer students to explore alternate housing options while maintaining their place on our Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 Housing Request Waitlist (information regarding both semesters can be found later on this webpage).

2025-2026 Academic Year Housing

Due to the significant demand for University Housing and our limited occupancy capacity, the housing application process is currently only open to incoming freshmen students. However, if students are interested in University Housing for next academic year, they need to visit the Living@TU Portal and click on and complete the “Housing Waitlist Form” to add yourself to the waitlist. Submitting a Housing Waitlist Form does not guarantee your housing. Waitlist communication will not begin until May 30, 2025.

  • To have access to the Living@TU Portal, students must officially accept their offer of admission by submitting the $200 nonrefundable Enrollment Deposit and their Enrollment Formin their TU Admissions Portal. The deposit will secure your spot in the incoming class and will be applied to your tuition bill.
  • After the Enrollment Deposit and Enrollment Form has been submitted it typically takes 24 hours for new students to be activated within the Living@TU Portal.
  • If their Living@TU Portal access is still not granted 24 hours after submitting their Enrollment Deposit & Form, the student should email for support.

The Spring 2026 Waitlist Form opens in November 2025 and Waitlist updates and notiications will begin on prior to the last week of December 2025.

Gender-Inclusive Housing

All housing assignments are made based on legal sex unless the student requests Gender Inclusive Housing. Gender-inclusive housing can be requested during the application process.

*Harris Hall and Tubman Houses and Millennium Hall are not operated by the university. Any monies paid to Capstone Properties cannot be transferred to the university.

Medical Accommodations

Students with medical housing needs must request accommodations through the Office of Accessibility and Disability Services. Medical accommodations can only be requested after a student completes the housing application process.
