Under the guidance of expert faculty, the Department of Music provides students with pathways to excellence in performance, pedagogy, communication, and technology as required of 21st century musicians. Field experiences prepare the next generation of music educators. Students engage with a wide variety of music encompassing the European classical tradition, the creation of original work, jazz and commercial music, and the music of global cultures. Our programs overall seek to foster creativity, artistic independence, and intellectual curiosity.
