About the Program:
This graduate certificate is designed to prepare P-12 teachers for National Board Certification. The program is available fully online and in a hybrid format.

The Accomplished Teaching for Student Impact certificate prepares P-12 teachers in Maryland to submit for National Board Certification. Teachers who attain National Board Certification advance in their careers, earn higher salaries and gain stature within the profession.

Offered by the Department of Secondary and Middle School Education, the 12-unit certificate provides students with support and feedback on critical aspects and requirements of the National Board Certification process. Each course is aligned with one of the four components of National Board Certification.

About the Program:
The program is grounded in the belief that education is a universal human right in an increasingly interdependent world. Preparing students for life and work in a global society requires a deep understanding of global interdependence, contemporary issues, and the connection between local and global issues.

This certificate program seeks to develop globally-competent citizens by enhancing the knowledge and skills of teachers. Educators will be prepared to equip their P-16 students with knowledge, skills and dispositions to understand and act on issues of global significance.

About the Program:
Secondary education prepares students to teach grades seven through 12 in biology, chemistry, earth-space science, English, mathematics, physics, or history/social studies.

About the Program:
Our program is designed for middle and high school teachers to gain advanced skills in research-based practices for teaching subject matter to diverse learners. In our increasingly interdependent world, there is a need to prepare teachers to be global educators who internationalize schools through curriculum development, instructional design, action research and teacher leadership.


Reduced Program Costs

  • Through a contractual agreement with your employer, tuition for courses are discounted approximately 50%.
  • The TU application fee of $45 is waived.
  • Participants are responsible for purchasing course texts.
  • A required electronic portfolio software program, with a one-time fee of $120, will be used in all College of Education graduate programs.
